talk radio or infomercial?

[This post does not pertain to the Big Guy. Rush is above this.]

Capitalism and the free market are the way to go. Ra, Ra, Romney. But sometimes it’s not so great.

If you enjoy Talk Radio like me, perhaps you’ve noticed that while every conservative host is trying hard to bring about victory in November, they are trying even harder to sell their books and brand themselves.

The amount of advertising in and around the shows is disgusting and oppressive. As much as I like Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, and Dennis Prager, they go over the line. (see: Rules For Radios)

None of these hosts are professional broadcasters. They stammer and talk endlessly about themselves. They are lucky to be on the air. I calculate the amount of time spent on issues and news is about 5 to 10 minutes an hour. The rest is made up of advertising spots and self-promotion.

Beck and Savage might have good voices for radio, but they too have ruined their shows by being so self-referential and incessantly selling their products.

Maybe we should rotate out these syndicated hosts. Give somebody else a chance. The longer they are on the air, the larger their egos become. And the more cash they want.

They want to live like Rush. But they are not him.
