talk radio or infomercial?

Posted in media, radio with tags on October 18, 2012 by Word-Drum

[This post does not pertain to the Big Guy. Rush is above this.]

Capitalism and the free market are the way to go. Ra, Ra, Romney. But sometimes it’s not so great.

If you enjoy Talk Radio like me, perhaps you’ve noticed that while every conservative host is trying hard to bring about victory in November, they are trying even harder to sell their books and brand themselves.

The amount of advertising in and around the shows is disgusting and oppressive. As much as I like Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, and Dennis Prager, they go over the line. (see: Rules For Radios)

None of these hosts are professional broadcasters. They stammer and talk endlessly about themselves. They are lucky to be on the air. I calculate the amount of time spent on issues and news is about 5 to 10 minutes an hour. The rest is made up of advertising spots and self-promotion.

Beck and Savage might have good voices for radio, but they too have ruined their shows by being so self-referential and incessantly selling their products.

Maybe we should rotate out these syndicated hosts. Give somebody else a chance. The longer they are on the air, the larger their egos become. And the more cash they want.

They want to live like Rush. But they are not him.

monkey biz

Word-Drum is now hiring monkeys to write all future blog posts.

A position is also available for Newt Gingrich, as long as he works exclusively for Word-Drum Industries, and drops out of the race for the Republican nomination.

SUBMITT NEWT, GET RICH

We need a BIG IDEA to launch us into becoming a media conglomerate. On the other hand, THE COUNTRY DOESN’T NEED ANYMORE STINKIN’ BIG IDEAS COMING FROM WASHINGTON D.C.

small is beautiful

To work at the blog if you are a Simian-American, you must at least have a basic understanding of Republican politics…say on the level of the average TV news presenter. Your pay will not be comparable to them, but your insight will be just as valuable.

This expansion should ensure the continuance of bohemian conservatism. Since Word-Drum himself has lost his blogging muse. He loved Sarah and now likes Santorum. Neither one can win in The Land Of The Lost. The vultures will turn a decent man like Romney into a monster.

Stay tuned for more artful insight coming from not just one lone musician, but from a group of crap-slinging monkeys.

the van jones show

Beck should change the name of his show. And he and other talk show hosts should stop with the self-referential B. S. Who cares what they said three years ago. Glenn’s ‘Van Jones Show’ is very repetitious. But Glenn is a good man trying to find a way to communicate important stuff. I appreciate the space he has opened up on broadcast TV.

The conspiracy of the Left (not to mention Political Islam), complete with it’s bagmen and scammers, is vast. It’s as big as Big Business. Everyday, millions of kids are being primed and ready to enter into the conspiracy by the liberal members of teachers unions. And the adults are kept in line by the media and the habit of hatred for the Right. Many are ready to fight any who would uncover the evil plot of Liberalism. Witness Wisconistan with it’s Union Thugs and Liberal Fascists who are quiet for CNN and the rest of the MSM, but go insane when Fox News tries to cover the Left in full tantrum.

They are expecting the taxpayers who are not part of the Movement to fund it. But they are a bunch of arrogant people. It can’t work.

It’s working pretty well for Van Jones. He will soon have his own show but it shouldn’t be too political. Maybe he can sing. That left-wing jazz does not play well when you need sponsors. I would gladly be his Musical Director, while secretly selling intel to Beck who can’t get enough of the guy.

where’s bumpy?

                                             Goin’ home!

Democracy in Egypt means Sunni (Muslim Brotherhood) and Shite (Iran) work together through ElBaradei to impose Sharia on the world, or destroy it.

Will Obama aid another Islamic conquest and take America into a position of weakness in the coming (regional or world) war? Sure he will.

So where’s Bumpy? He’s in the hearts of most of those men (where are all the gals?) in the streets of his homeland. Oh, to be a child again like the dweebs on CNN.

movement guy takes a poll

Movement Guy is Word-Drum’s undercover leftist persona. He uses it to uncover (and F with) liberals.

Fuller will kill for peace                                  Democrat Fuller will kill for peace

Asking liberals if we should just get rid of Republicans they mostly responded favorably. “What good do they do? They are so uncivil and mean.”

“Their removal from society would bring the blossoming of a new era of peace and love. Just the removal of Sarah Palin would ease the suffering of millions.” [of Democrats]

The wise and good liberals told me that now that they have the government they like, any dissent against it should be seen as treason.

Polling discovered that violence per se is not always wrong if you are on the side of the Righteous. “Resistance against the ‘Christo-Fascist Army’ [The U.S. Armed Forces] is justified. What right do they have being in foreign lands?”

Likewise the elimination of the Right-Wing is demanded in a world based on Social Justice.

True, I egged them on a bit. But most liberals admitted to genocidal feelings towards the Right. Just like members of the Weather Underground admitted to an undercover FBI Agent in the 70s. The New Left’s move into Education, the Media and Entertainment has paid off in spades. Many seem primed and ready to go off like the whacked-out Truther and Bush Hater who’s rage exploded in Tuscan. Others will let Obama take care of it. He’ll deneuter the Right.

It was no surprise that results of my poll were not picked-up by the Mainstream Media. Admittedly it was a Push Poll where as Democrat Pollsters don’t tell. Yet their polls are widely circulated.

But Word-Drum has learned that underneath the peace symbols, the hate-filled hearts of many liberals are yearning to unload on all (except Muslims) who disagree with them.

hero of the story

Watching too many movies. I get free movie channels for 3 months with my new Dishnet. It works fine except when it snows. We are having a blizzard so I was planning on actually reading a book tonight. It stopped snowing so it works again(Thank God, reading involves too much thinking…unless it’s on the Internet of course).

But even more suspenseful than the movies is waiting to find out if I survive the new year and have the price of admission for the next one. That’s a scary movie.

If next week you find that this site is now selling windmills, or organic Viagra, that might be an indication that I have gone under water. Stay tuned for the final conclusion, or continued weirdness.

“Adopt A Sailor” was a really nice little movie I watched this evening. And “Book Of Eli” is great.

input

I’m like Johnny 5 when it comes to Talk-Radio. Give me input.

I could read it on line but musicians are more sound oriented than are robots.

Rush takes me through the week(with a sprinkling of Levin, Medved, Ingraham, Humphries and others).

Sundays (late morning) used to go to Gun Talk, but now it’s back to New York WABC to listen to Aaron Klein Investigative Radio.

You can listen to the podcast here

Aaron speaks very clearly and never stammers like other hosts(who are not Rush). He often scoops the rest of the media as a journalist. His bumper music is terrible(House), but he gives lots of good input.

Aaron Klein is followed by another promising new show on WABC Radio: Jason Mattera, Brooklyn’s answer to B. Hussein Olinsky. Check it.
